DEEP CLEAN PROMPTS VENUE CHANGE FOR FEBRUARY
On Friday, Feb. 16, our members set sail at 6 p.m. at Wine in the Willows, 125 N. Park St., four blocks south of Lakeport Yacht Club. Your $20 ticket includes tasty food service (see menu below) with happy hour pricing on wine and beer. Membership renewal forms and payments also will be gladly accepted.
Potential board members and others interested are invited to a brief meeting and building tour at 5 p.m. at the club, 15 Fifth St. No actions will be taken.
Our formal business meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at Wine in the Willows with several action items on the agenda. Please READ THE AGENDA.
Pardon our dust
Our awesome janitorial crew just mopped up a massive deep clean including chairs, tables and all cabinets where dinner ware and food utensils are stored. That’s a very good start, but upon closer inspection several minor building repairs, updated fire safety equipment and signage also are needed.
The following is a partial list of needed repairs and equipment:
- Two fire extinguishers and mounting brackets
- Two kitchen/barbecue fire extinguishers and brackets.
- Two LED illuminated exit signs and emergency lights.
- One panic push bar.
- One KnoxBox (holds keys for Lakeport Fire).
- One 36-inch range hood with ducting and professional installation
- Three medium-duty door closers; one heavy duty.
- One first-aid kit.
That’s not the whole repair list, but you get the idea. The commodore will ask members to approve building upgrades and repairs not to exceed $2,000 during the 7 p.m. membership meeting. Again, please READ THE AGENDA.
The clubhouse will be open 9 to noon on Saturday, Feb. 17, for a small work party. We have some old pots, pans and serving dishes looking for a home. Help is also needed to reorganize the club’s utensils and locking cabinets.
New and returning members
Super encouraging when folks come back and new crew climb on board. Our active 2024 membership now stands at 22. Please welcome Bruce and Patricia Finley and John MacDonald, all of Lakeport, to the club.

Dude, where’s my marina?
Clearlake Marina and RV Park at 1400 S. Main St. in Lakeport was host to an unscheduled session of bumper boats as last weekend’s heavy winds and waves literally ripped apart the marina’s floating docks.
Several club members were impacted, with “Sailor Mike” Lundwall assisting in efforts to stabilize the floating debris and remove or rehome the boats. Thankfully, no injuries were reported and boat damage was fairly minor. Cleanup efforts at the marina continue.
And now, the menu
The main gathering sets anchor at 6 p.m. at Wine in the Willows, 125 Park St., across from the Library Park playground near the First Street boat ramp. Your $20 dinner contribution covers all the foodie stuff, and you’re in full command of the wine and beer offerings after that. Full beverage menu here.
Happy Hour pricing of $7/glass on house red and white wines — a very good red blend and a sauvignon blanc from R Vineyards. For the munchies menu, WW owners Cinamon and Scott plan to make a large charcuterie tray and provide at least one each of their flatbread pizzas:
- Classic Margherita: Mozzarella, red sauce, basil
- Pear Gorgonzola
- Hawaiian Ham & Pineapple
- Pesto Mediterranean
Prosciutto available for pizzas 1, 2 and 4. Trivia questions? It could happen. Business meeting begins at 7 p.m.
Fair winds and following seas,
Michael Green, Commodore
